Have you ever wondered...
do I have ADHD?
would my child benefit from accommodations in the classroom?
why hasn't medication worked for me?
why can't I seem to achieve the things I want in life?
Psychological assessment is a scientific and therapeutic tool to answer any of the questions above and countless more. These evaluations include investigation of a person's intellectual, cognitive, and emotional strengths and challenges.
---
Comprehensive evaluations are also called "Psychoeducational Evaluations" or"Psychodiagnostic Evaluations" depending upon the focus and the question(s) to be answered.
Brief Intellectual evaluations are often requested by parents looking to enroll their child in private schools or gifted programs who require IQ testing prior to admission. These evaluations can also clarify intellectual strengths and weaknesses and indicate whether a child is intellectually gifted.
Brief Adult ADHD evaluations are appropriate for those individuals who are 18 years and older and who do not have other significant medical or mental health concerns. Due to the limited nature of these evaluations, broader questions may be more completely answered by a comprehensive assessment.
Dr. Carter partners with Key Learning to deliver targeted assessments for adults and children suspected of having dyslexia (Specific Learning Disability in reading). These evaluations involve time with both a clinical psychologist and reading specialist.
The costs below for all evaluations include an in-depth clinical interview, testing, feedback session, and report. Due to the varying levels of complexity and number of hours needed to score and interpret the data and write the report, the costs for various evaluation types differ. Dr. Carter does not currently accept any form of insurance. You will be provided a "superbill" upon request, which you may submit to your insurance company for reimbusement, depending upon your out-of-network benefits. Payment plans will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All major credit cards, debit cards, check, cash, and health savings plans are accepted.Â
